What our students say about ANDESpanish
Amazing place for learning Spanish Hi. I am W who studied spanish here before . When I first arrived there , I didn't know enough Spanish to speak, read also listen(I didn't even speak a word of Spanish !!!). I thought it would be hard , but teachers in EHE spent a great amount time with me for improving my spanish. So now , I speak Spanish fairly well. If you want to be a person who speak fairly well in Spanish like me, go EHE then you will get it.

I’ve attended Spanish classes in several cities around Latin America over the years, but EHE ranks among the best. Professor Cristian and his team are absolutely amazing. Although I wasn’t at the school for long, I loved my classes and wished I could stay longer. During my time in Socorro I took private lessons at the school and feel like my Spanish really improved with Cristian’s teaching methods. The school is small, but the classrooms are great. Cristian also went above and beyond what his responsibilities were as a teacher - he took me on a town tour the day I arrived, invited me to join his family to partake in local festivities and explored the market with me on market day. He makes you feel very welcome. If you are looking to improve your Spanish level while staying in a charming Colombian town, then I would highly recommend EHE in Socorro.

I got to work on my Spanish with profesor Cristian and his team for 4 weeks. We usually did 3 hours a day which was perfect and each hour had a different teacher so I didn't get a chance to lose concentration. It’s a very family feel school as you will get to meet Christian’s wife from south Korea and his adorable kids on day trips that he organizes in the beautiful towns of the Santander region. But what really sets apart this school compared to others is the location in the town of Socorro. It’s a much smaller town than San gil or the gigantic and somewhat overwhelming Bogota and Medellin. It’s so charming and you get to have a much more relaxed lifestyle in Socorro where you can walk everywhere, visit the fresh fruit market everyday, and really get to immerse yourself in Colombian culture and Spanish language because there are barely any foreigners there so no one speaks much English. If you really want to learn, there s no better place!
My name is Martin, and during my three-week intensive Spanish course at EHE Spanish School in June 2017, I achieved such rapid progress that I can now finally converse with my Colombian wife and her family without constantly relying on a dictionary. The school offers a unique, family-like atmosphere with highly motivated teachers who adapt to personal needs, while the director, Cristian, goes above and beyond to share the rich history and culture of El Socorro, a charming and historic town that served as the starting point for Colombia's independence. Though it is often overlooked by guidebooks, El Socorro is an incredibly rewarding destination located just a few hours from Bogotá and Bucaramanga, offering an authentic experience where you can explore organic coffee and sugar cane plantations just a short walk from the center. I found the town to be the safest place I have visited in Colombia over the last ten years, allowing for a relaxed lifestyle where I could safely explore the friendly community or take short trips to nearby attractions like the colonial town of Barichara, the Chicamocha Canyon, or the adventure hub of San Gil. With its welcoming people and the dedicated support of the EHE team, studying here was an exceptional experience that earns an absolute "thumbs up" from me.

When I was researching a place to learn Spanish in South America, there were many options and it was a little overwhelming. A friend had recommended that I learn in Socorro because I would be forced to speak more Spanish and learn faster as English was not commonly spoken in the town. I found Profesor Cristian and the EHE spanish school from there. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with the school. The teachers were amazing in the classroom and sent me home with material each day so that I would progress faster and learn good speaking habits at the same time. Cristian also is phenomenal at taking all the students out into town or in the countryside. You will learn a lot about the region and develop intimate relationships with this family and with the other students if you choose. By the end of my 1 month there I was already wishing I had planned more time in Socorro to progress my spanish and relationships. I believe this is one of the best values out there for learning Spanish.
